Boracay Grand Flores de Mayo 2013

Image

Organized by the Boracay Foundation, Incorporated in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Malay in line with the Celebrations for Boracay Day.

We have invited the entire Boracay Community to watch and witness this colorful Filipino tradition! For the first time in Boracay, let us showcase the Santacruzan!

Boracay ladies representing the island’s leading establishments and even individual community members, barangay representatives will parade along the White Beach wearing traditional and vibrant Filipiniana/traditional attire. This will help us in presenting our rich Filipino culture especially to our international tourists.

A Santacruzan is a religious-historical beauty pagent held in many cities, towns and even small villages throughout the Philippines during the month of May. One of the most colorful May-time festivals in the Philippines which depicts the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena, mother of Constantine the Great.
